Adams Community Bank Promotes Three Long Term Employees and Hires a Commercial Lender

Adams, MA – April 16, 2013 - Adams Community Bank announced today the promotion of three of its employees: Amy Giroux to Chief Culture Officer; Doreen Descoteau to Branch Officer of its Williamstown branch and Janice Adams to Network and Systems Officer. Additionally, Donna Halton was hired as Senior Vice President of Commercial Lending. “I am happy to announce the promotion of these three individuals who are all strong contributors to the success of our bank,” said Charles P. Adams Community Bank is a proud sponsor of DownStreet Art in North Adams. Our early summer exhibit is by local photographer, Kay Canavino, and is called "Night Portraits." Kay had this to say about her work: "I have chosen to focus on the people who work at night, not the people who are passing through, or who are out enjoying themselves in the night. Like other creatures who adapt themselves to the night, humans have created methods of coping with a lack of sunlight." Night Portraits will be on exhibit through July 22. |

Adams Community Bank sponsored a team for the Northern Berkshire Relay for Life. The Bank’s volunteer committee worked rigorously on planning fundraising events—it’s a labor of love for an important cause. We all know someone touched by this deadly disease—family, friends and co-workers—which is why we host events like "Dining for a Cause," donation lunches and dress down days for our staff just to name a few. Our Bank raised over $20,000 this year for the American Cancer Society. |

NOTICE OF EXPIRATION OF THE TEMPORARY FULL FDIC INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR NONINTEREST-BEARING TRANSACTION ACCOUNTS
By operation of federal law, beginning January 1, 2013, funds deposited in a noninterest-bearing transaction account (including an Interest on Lawyer Trust Accounts) no longer will receive unlimited deposit insurance coverage by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). Beginning January 1, 2013, all of a depositor’s accounts at an insured depository institution, including all nontinterest-bearing transaction accounts, will be insured by the FDIC up to the standard maximum deposit insurance amount ($250,000), for each deposit insurance ownership category.

COVERAGE FOR TRANSACTION ACCOUNTS
All funds in a "noninterest-bearing transaction account" are insured in full by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation from December 31, 2010 through December 31, 2012. This temporary unlimited coverage is in addition to, and separate from, the coverage of at least $250,000 available to depositors under the FDIC's general deposit insurance rules.
The term "noninterest-bearing transaction account" includes a traditional checking account or demand deposit account on which the insured depository institution pays no interest. It also includes Interest on Lawyers Trust Accounts (IOLTAs”). It does not include other accounts, such as traditional checking or demand deposit accounts that may earn interest, NOW accounts and money-market deposit accounts.
